Diamond Communications has approached Cerrillos residents over the past three years with 3 different plans for an AT&T communication tower. The current proposal is to place a 55 foot tall "monopine" or "water tank" stealth cell tower on the ridge above the Village of Cerrillos, adjacent to Cerrillos Hills State Park.  Las Candelas de Los Cerrillos, The Cerrillos Hills Park Coalition, and The San Marcos Association are working to oppose placing such a culturally jarring feature at that location, a viewpoint taken by most of the residents of the Village and the surrounding area.  Neither we, nor they, are opposed to increasing cell phone coverage, but we feel strongly that this is an inappropriate location.
