The Las Candelas CO Committee works with Santa Fe County to inform residents on development applications before the County. Downloads to the 2015 Los Cerrillos Community Plan & Updates http://www.santafecountynm.gov/growth_management/community_planning_center 5/9/2020 While taking into consideration that many of us use cell phones, and are not opposed in general to a need for communications infrastructure, the Board of Las Candelas community association will give the following input through Trileaf for the State historic Preservation Office (SHPO): Las Candelas is strongly opposed to the prominent location of a communications tower in view of the Turquoise Trail National Scenic Byway at Cerrillos, the entrance to the historic Village of Cerrillos, and the Cerrillos Hills State Park. The site is contained within a view-shed significant in American history, and our historic Los Cerrillos Mining District (listed on the State and National Register of Historic Places, #273, registered 1973). 10/7/2020 Diamond Communications conducted a virtual community meeting via Amazon chime at 6:00 pm. Approx. 50 area residents signed in. Following the public meeting Diamond Communications will begin their application with the County. ~ Las Candelas Community Organization requests postponement of required public meetings on the Trileaf proposal until Covid-19 safety measures are lifted by the Governor. |
